Described by Thom Yorke as ‘the most menacing album I own’, Christoph De Babalon’s 1997 classic If You’re Into It, I’m Out Of It is getting a reissue from Cross Fade Enter Tainment. Full of break-laden, baron soundscapes, jungle and drum & bass collide in a mesh of dark ambient surroundings in this frantic, apocalyptic record.

Helm – World In Action Remixed [A L T E R]

Tracks from Helm’s World In Action for The Trilogy Tapes get the remix treatment from several excellent producers. Parris and Laurel Halo take on ‘Blue Scene’, resulting in a dubby, weightless excursion from the former and a break-driven, rave-oriented number from the latter. Low Jack, Beneath and Sky H1 also make telling contributions – all bringing their own flavour to the EP’s remaining three tracks.

Kuniyuki Takahashi – Early Tape Works (1986 – 1993) Vol. 1 [Music From Memory]

One of our favourite labels of the last couple years, Music From Memory, come back with another great collection of music from yesteryear. With official releases dating back to the turn of the millennium, Kuniyuki Takahashi’s production career stretches back over three decades. Early Tape Works, Vol. 1 is a portrait of the Mule Musiq regulars earliest electronic experimentations: six raw, ambient pieces of music of varying levels of sparseness.

Various Artists – Unknown Data Set [Potatoheadz Records]

Potatoheadz deliver their first 12″ to date in Unknown Data Set, with label regulars providing the goodies. Riding the electro wave this EP is a testament to innovation and fresh takes on old ideas, true to the ideals that the label hold dear. Each track holds its own weight, none standing above the rest but in blissful equality, complimenting one another as a great EP does.
