For the twentieth edition of the Come Up Records mix series, we’re very happy to welcome a good pal of ours into the fold – Hayato Takahashi. Originally from Tokyo, over the last year we and Hayato have become well acquainted amidst the hubbub of South London, attended nights together and, perhaps most significantly, started sharing records with each other. It was during this time that we knew we had to get him in for a mix.
Aside from DJing Hayato has worked extensively as a writer and translator on projects for the likes of Jessy Lanza, Levon Vincent and R&S Records whilst also studying at Goldsmiths College. This mix was recorded at his family home in Shizuoka, and features a variety of ambient sounds – traversing across drone-laden mounds of beatless tension into cooler climates of softly undulating house music. We hope you enjoy!
